In recent years, there has been a huge increase in instruments coming from Chinese factories.  Most feature designs that are copied, with varied levels of success, from major manufacturers in Japan, Europe, and the US.  These instruments are then branded and retailed by a variety of companies.  One company, Wessex, began taking these copies and improving them through more rigorous quality control and through design tweaks.  They've since branched off to original designs that have been very well received.  This euphonium, their Dolce Cantabile, is an updated and improved version of the Yamaha clones that are flooding the market.  While more expensive brands might play better, this instrument plays very well for its price tag.  It is a great option for students or for people looking for an affordable doubling instrument.
